Happy New Year!

We’re almost two weeks into the year and I’m only just writing my first post. I’ve been working to ensure this year is set up properly, and now I finally have it in place. Today I’m sharing some tips to helping you make 2018 a positive and eventful year.

So I’ve got this new thing with adding titles to my year, kinda like a chapter in a book as a way of recording growth. It would be amazing to just look back years later and be able to have an account of yearly life changes and achievements in a few years from now. 2017 saw me through some changes  (started a new job, joined the single life, set up the blog youtube channel). It was was a year of opening my mind to new thoughts, feelings and experiences. It was also a year of self awareness, self expression and self love (I married myself, read last post!) thus, I decided to call it ‘2017: THE DECLARATION OF RECLAMATION’ 2018 is dedication to accelerated learning and growth. I’m about to squeeze in 2 years worth of work in the space of 1 and put myself on a diligent schedule therefore I’ve decided to dub this year 2018: ‘OBSESSION FOR PROGRESSION’

I think I mentioned before that I don’t do the whole new year ‘ya-da da-da’ resolution thing but I have indeed goals and plans I set out to achieve in 2018. I’ve made a conscience decision to exercise Discipline, Self motivation and Consistency this year (and thereafter), as these are important skills that I must master to progress onto the next stage in my life. ‘Obsession of Progression’ literally revolves around these 3 skills. It’s about pushing myself to complete tasks no matter the mood, learning how to keep myself motivated by identifying when my moral and energy is low and knowing how to raise it and finally, organisation and forcing myself into a well established routine so I know exactly what needs to be done and how to do it.

“Sooo..exactly how do you plan on achieve this then”? good question, I’m glad you asked. These are the steps I’m taking to ensure I stick to the script for a successful 2018.

  1. Every year I write two virtual letter’s to myself via FutureMe dated for mid year and end of the year. If you don’t know what the site is about I’m about to put you on! Ever since I came across it in a magazine about 5 years ago it’s been a permanent thing of mine. You basically write a letter to yourself (or whoever) and future me emails it back to you on your desired date – be it the next day, next year or 10 years from now. As soon I write them I completely forget all about it, so it’s always a nice surprise getting a message from younger you. I use this to inspire myself and track goals, it’s a powerful tool ya’ll.
  2. Get your self a bomb ass diary, meaning something that you’ll enjoy using and helps you organise yourself. I use the PassionPlanner to plan my daily tasks and goals.

  3. I’ll spending a lot more time praying, focusing on my communication with God, strengthening my spirituality and using the law of attraction. Here it is in a nutshell;
  • Intense Desire
  • Imagination and Conceptualization
  • Affirmation
  • Focus and Confidence
  • Profound Believe
  • Gratitude
  • Manifestation

4.  Spending more time alone for reflection and evaluation. On Sunday’s I’ll often allocate an hour for evaluating the week. I’ll identify what I did well in, what didn’t go so well, and most importantly, how to improve the following week.

5. Network and socialise – “If you want to go quickly go alone, If you want to go far, go together”. There’s only so much one can achieve alone, it’s team work that really allows you to reach new potential. To grow rapidly, meeting new people in your field can be an amazing tool and also great for making possible longeterm friendships. I’m currently reading an excellent popular book titled “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie, I suggest reading this if your like me, not a very social person or you’d like to improve your conversational skills.

That summaries today’s post, hopefully you can take something out of it and implement it in your own day to day life. What steps are you making to ensure your year is successful?

Hey ya’ll,

So I’ve been going through some changes lately. Personal developments, relationships, work and goals, the whole lot. I’m growing in area’s of life, and today I wanna share three of them. This gonna be a little lengthy so grab some tea, maybe wine??

First of all, I started consuming a plant based diet round of applause) six weeks ago. I finally got so sick of poisoning my body with this man made trash we call food. I already adopted a no chemical policy when it comes to my skin and hair (shea butter, argan oil and coconut oil) a while back and it was just an amount of time until I finally turn it into a lifestyle. I was ready to go cold turkey and go all the way vegan, however I eventually decided slow and steady is a better idea then rushing into something and not chickening out (pun intended) sooner.  Instead I opted for completely replacing cow milk with almond milk, and ensuring I only eat 100% organic eggs.  Originally I challenged myself to become vegetarian for 3 months and if i liked the effects enough, I’d make it a life change. However, I didn’t even need that long to see and enjoy it’s effects.

What kick started me into vegetarianism was when I watched a documentary suggested on Netflix by someone I was talking to. I believe the video is called “What The Health” that examines the link between food and disease. To be honest, most of us are already aware of the link between the two but watching the documentary was a real in your face eye opener to the meat business as well as the healthcare industry. It also provides an excellent point of reference to conduct your own research and look into all the facts. I’m gonna avoid going into to much details and bore you to death but I highly suggest that you watch it.

The first few weeks was a little bit of struggle, especially with trying to figure out what the hell I’m supposed to eat! The craving for meat slowly diminished throughout the weeks once I got myself sorted out. I did a lot of researching into different recipes and make sure I can still consume complete meal high in protein to compliment my gym work outs. I started meal prepping my food at the end of the week to avoid temptations on my commute to work.  I snack on fruit, nuts all day and completely cut out processed food. I managed to increase my water intake to 2-3 litres daily and altered my gym workouts to make the most of my eating habits. Needless to say I feel flipping amazing. Mentally, physically, emotionally it’s the best place I’ve been.

To my damn self. Like legit. I wrote vowels, memorised and got a ring to seal the deal. I repeat them to myself every so often. I committed to my happiness and making every choice work to my favour. I fell in love with my smile, my laugh, my half dimple that I rarely notice. I take myself on little dates and figured out what I cant stand and what truly makes my heart burst. Ive explored every corner of my inquisitive mind and dived into the depth of my fluid spirit. I remind myself how fearless I am and compliment myself every time I see my reflection. I challenged my self to live fearlessly, unapologetically and passionately for me. I pointed out every imperfection and fell in love with it and encouraged myself to work on the flaws of my personality. Im so obsessed with myself right now, and it’s so perfect.

In a way I feel a little bad for my future husband. He wont be able to beat this kinda love but he sure has hell gotta strive to match it.

So at the end of august I started a You Tube Channel for my son Foday. He’s been asking me for a while to make fun cool videos and after a little while, I thought, why not. After weighing the pro’s and cons, I figured out this could potentially be a great set up for him in the future. He’s s passionate and creative, always suggested a new way of doing something I couldn’t have come up with He’s learning the importance of hard work, discipline and consistently early on, real life lessons. Each week we go through video’s, look for areas of improvement and try to out do our last video. He’s grasping the idea of self motivation, vision and focus. He gets why practice and patience is essential. There’s still a gap for what he’s into and younger kids are one of the most profitable categories on you tube (did my research!) The lessons he gaining and fun he’s having is definitely amazing enough, but for him to  be able to profit financially from this would set him self up in an amazing way in the future. After testing the waters, next year were shooting big! We have lots of ideas lined up and cant wait to see where it takes him this time next  year. Check his youtube channel out – @GameWithDay

Obviously I’ve had my channel for a year now, but only really started to do video’s about 5/6 month ago. I have to say I’m quite impressed that I’ve managed to clock even 1000 views on my videos lol Even though they are quite far and in between I genuinely have a lot of fun filming them. Discipline and consistently have always been areas that I struggle in so my biggest challenge next year is keeping it up. I have tons of great ideas, it’s just really about getting my ass to record and organise myself.  Im also slowly carving myself a little niche, and although I love doing make up video’s, trying to avoid doing them too often as there’s already enough of them going on. Im steering more in the direction of  self development, pranks and fun and lifestyle, and vlogs, all with my little personal spin. Follow me if you don’t already @CerraCinna

My little brand SoleSovereign will be launching for the last time in January! I have clearer direction and as determined as ever to achieve every one of my goals for this year. We have a new logo, fresh ideas, and lots of vision. Im doing tons of research, a whole lot of painting, and have every T shirt I own  sprinkled with a pinch of glitter. As annoying as it is, as long as I stay shining I’m gooood. I’ll do a whole separate post on the launch and new sneakers very soon, Until then,  Follow us on Instagram @solesovereign

Well that’s it, my currently updates. I can’t believe this year has already come to an end, I think I must also be approaching or just past my first year of this blog too. I’m super excited for what’s to come, and I’ll be working diligently to get everything to come together just as I have seen it. The real struggle I find is trying to keep up with social media while trying to juggle everything else. I’ll get it right though, that’s my word.

See you in my next post x

Last month I attending my first ‘fancy dress’ halloween party ever. As crazy as it sounds considering I have lived my whole life as a Londoner, I’ve never trick or treated (which I don’t regret) or dressed up in the name of halloween (or anything else as a matter of fact). My only explanation  aside the fact that I’m a christian is that I never had the desire to until recently. I think the opportunity to wear something I wouldn’t have the opportunity to otherwise is probably what became appealing to me. After watching several halloween make up tutorials year after year, I was excited to try something out of my comfort zone, get creative, and use some new products I wouldn’t have used otherwise.

I knew exactly what I wanted to dress up as a few months prior to halloween. I’m not really keen on those ready made generic outfits, to me it takes away the fun. I had to opt for something more original, although I know it’s been done a fair number of times, but add my own twist on it. The botched plastic surgery look was fun to create yet pretty simple and straight forward to achieve. I got the inspiration for my ‘surgery markings’ from a few videos on youtube and trialled it a few weeks ahead. I found that the best product to create this was liquid eyeliner as oppose to a gel liner. In hindsight I would have opted for one with a smaller brush as the thickness made it hard to create precise lines.

The trial Look!

So to begin, I completed my usual makeup,  no eye shadow. and although I was tempted, kept it simple with a winged eye liner. I then went ahead and drew on the “surgery markings” using my black liquid eyeliner and completed it with some red lipgloss.

My outfit consisted of 2 packets of bandages to create a boob tube, and a white bandage skirt I purchased from missguided. The bandages were a nightmare to tie on, my biggest concern was it falling off mid-twerk (Just keeping it real lool). At first it seemed to be either too tight and caused me severe breathing problems or too loose and threatened to expose all. Instead of using safety pins as planned, just tying the two ends together worked out perfectly. I was actually going to tie this up differently (going around the neck and crossing over) but I opted for this style so I could add ‘breast lift’ marking on my chest.

Finally I completed the look with the best part; using the faux blood and adding wounds to my markings. The initial plan was to use blood and liquid latex from Revolution, the high street makeup brand (£4) however it sold out before I could get my hands on it. I then had to resort to Claires Accessories  (£6) which was way brighter then the real thing, and dried up too quickly. I ended up finding a bottle at Primark (£1) which the one I used in the picture, and it was way more believable and cheaper! To create texture on the wounds, I added some cotton wool coated with the liquid latex. Once it become tacky, I smeared some of the fake blood and voila! This whole look probably took 2 hours and a half to complete from start to finish, but the majority was just applying the makeup. The whole red wig seemed to throw people off since it was kind of random with my outfit. They assumed I was dressed up as Blac Chyna which was hilarious. To be honest, It was just because I’d never worn red hair, and I wanted an excuse for it!

Anyway, that concludes the look! The dress up party was great fun although I felt like I made way more of an effort then most people. Nevertheless I’ll definitely be attending more in the future, in fact, I already have next year’s  outfit in mind!

I actually cannot believe how long it’s been since I last blogged! I looked at my last post and thought “well damn!” In my head it’s been a few weeks but in reality it’s closer to two months, oh dear.

I took some time off (both intention & unintentional) to rearrange my ideas and branding for CERRACINNA as well as focus on some important self development.  I started off my YouTube channel (Cerra Cinna) and I’m slowly building up the quality of the video as well as of the video itself. Now that I’m back I’ve got a much better idea of the direction I’d like to take with myself & branding. All I have to do now is be CONSISTENT & DISCIPLINED. Pray for me ya’ll cause it’s not easy!

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen this picture posted before. I kinda freestyled the eye look and it came out decent. The dress is from MisGuided and comes in a few other colours. I usually go for darker shades but I knew this one would pop against my skin tone, and it turned out cuuuuh-yutttte. I’m definitely planning to do more outfit images in future, and yes to more colours.

I’ll be blogging twice weekly now and focusing on great content. Next post will be up on Saturday and will be regarding an important subject. Till then, stay beautiful!
