Last month I attending my first ‘fancy dress’ halloween party ever. As crazy as it sounds considering I have lived my whole life as a Londoner, I’ve never trick or treated (which I don’t regret) or dressed up in the name of halloween (or anything else as a matter of fact). My only explanation  aside the fact that I’m a christian is that I never had the desire to until recently. I think the opportunity to wear something I wouldn’t have the opportunity to otherwise is probably what became appealing to me. After watching several halloween make up tutorials year after year, I was excited to try something out of my comfort zone, get creative, and use some new products I wouldn’t have used otherwise.

I knew exactly what I wanted to dress up as a few months prior to halloween. I’m not really keen on those ready made generic outfits, to me it takes away the fun. I had to opt for something more original, although I know it’s been done a fair number of times, but add my own twist on it. The botched plastic surgery look was fun to create yet pretty simple and straight forward to achieve. I got the inspiration for my ‘surgery markings’ from a few videos on youtube and trialled it a few weeks ahead. I found that the best product to create this was liquid eyeliner as oppose to a gel liner. In hindsight I would have opted for one with a smaller brush as the thickness made it hard to create precise lines.

The trial Look!

So to begin, I completed my usual makeup,  no eye shadow. and although I was tempted, kept it simple with a winged eye liner. I then went ahead and drew on the “surgery markings” using my black liquid eyeliner and completed it with some red lipgloss.

My outfit consisted of 2 packets of bandages to create a boob tube, and a white bandage skirt I purchased from missguided. The bandages were a nightmare to tie on, my biggest concern was it falling off mid-twerk (Just keeping it real lool). At first it seemed to be either too tight and caused me severe breathing problems or too loose and threatened to expose all. Instead of using safety pins as planned, just tying the two ends together worked out perfectly. I was actually going to tie this up differently (going around the neck and crossing over) but I opted for this style so I could add ‘breast lift’ marking on my chest.

Finally I completed the look with the best part; using the faux blood and adding wounds to my markings. The initial plan was to use blood and liquid latex from Revolution, the high street makeup brand (£4) however it sold out before I could get my hands on it. I then had to resort to Claires Accessories  (£6) which was way brighter then the real thing, and dried up too quickly. I ended up finding a bottle at Primark (£1) which the one I used in the picture, and it was way more believable and cheaper! To create texture on the wounds, I added some cotton wool coated with the liquid latex. Once it become tacky, I smeared some of the fake blood and voila! This whole look probably took 2 hours and a half to complete from start to finish, but the majority was just applying the makeup. The whole red wig seemed to throw people off since it was kind of random with my outfit. They assumed I was dressed up as Blac Chyna which was hilarious. To be honest, It was just because I’d never worn red hair, and I wanted an excuse for it!

Anyway, that concludes the look! The dress up party was great fun although I felt like I made way more of an effort then most people. Nevertheless I’ll definitely be attending more in the future, in fact, I already have next year’s  outfit in mind!

I actually cannot believe how long it’s been since I last blogged! I looked at my last post and thought “well damn!” In my head it’s been a few weeks but in reality it’s closer to two months, oh dear.

I took some time off (both intention & unintentional) to rearrange my ideas and branding for CERRACINNA as well as focus on some important self development.  I started off my YouTube channel (Cerra Cinna) and I’m slowly building up the quality of the video as well as of the video itself. Now that I’m back I’ve got a much better idea of the direction I’d like to take with myself & branding. All I have to do now is be CONSISTENT & DISCIPLINED. Pray for me ya’ll cause it’s not easy!

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen this picture posted before. I kinda freestyled the eye look and it came out decent. The dress is from MisGuided and comes in a few other colours. I usually go for darker shades but I knew this one would pop against my skin tone, and it turned out cuuuuh-yutttte. I’m definitely planning to do more outfit images in future, and yes to more colours.

I’ll be blogging twice weekly now and focusing on great content. Next post will be up on Saturday and will be regarding an important subject. Till then, stay beautiful!

Hey everyone,

Today I wanted to share a few pictures from my cousin’s wedding day during my break in Paris. The bride Stephie, married her husband on the 12 of August 2017 in Chartres, France. It was an amazing day and actually the first time that I have been present at all the segments of a wedding. The day began at the “Maire” where the close relatives met up to watch the couple sign their legal marriage certificate. The beautiful bride and groom arrived in a horse and carriage, with the bride stealing the show in her stunning dress. After taking pictures at a park, everyone headed to the church for the service. It was such an emotional ceremony, watching her walk down the aisle was memorising and the vowels had me shed a few tears!. The final part of the wedding took us to the reception where cocktails were served and the party started!

My highlight of the night was just having my family together. There were people I hadn’t seen in years and years, it was an amazing turnout.

To the couple – I wish them the very best in their new lives together. I pray they live everyday abundantly and keep God in the middle of their union x

Hey Everyone,

So I’ve been away for most of the month on holiday with Foday (my son), and boy did I underestimated how hard it is to blog and vlog abroad! I think I have another new found respect for ‘vloggers’, it truly is a skill in itself. I did initially plan to vlog my week away in Milan, followed by a wedding in Paris, however things didn’t go quite as planned. My camera batteries seemed to discharge all on it’s own and I could never quite get good enough footage for my liking. I think I also struggled with angles, my 35mm lense wasn’t wide enough and I needed some some sort of extension similar to a selfie stick, probably a gorilla tripod. Another mistake I made was thinking my single 32GB memory card would be enough memory, and instead found my self deleted several great images to make room for a few minutes of video footage.  Eventually, I realised it wasn’t going to work and was something I’d need some real practice with before I’m ready for a full vlog video. Nevertheless, I tried to capture some images throughout the week to put into the blog.

Milan is such a beautiful city, I instantly fell in love with the ambience, food and monuments. The weather was amazing, 37 degrees throughout the whole week. We stayed at the San Siro Idea Hotel which was conveniently located right next to a major water park. I’m super proud of the fact that we managed to make our own way to our hotel via public transport and navigate ourselves around Milan all week, shout out to google maps!

One of my favourite places we visited was the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall. It is one of the oldest in the world and was constructed in 1875 and named after Italy’s first king.  With it’s marble floors and glass domed ceilings, the architect and details of this building is absolutely stunning. The mall houses a number of luxury brands and amazing restaurants nearby. It’s unfortunately the images I captured inside were accidentally deleted!

We managed to do some sight seeing on a hop on – hop off bus tour. I tried capturing a few images along the way.

I’ll definitely be back to Milan, and possibly very soon! I think I may take a train ride to venice and rome too while I’m at it. There’s so many places in Italy I’d like to visit, maybe sicily or Amalfi Coast for a beach break in the future would be fantastic.

Have you been to Italy, what’s your favourite city?

Hey guys,

So I finally got my hands on the Naked Urban Decay Heat, and, it. really.  is. fire. First off, the packaging itself is to die for. It’s definitely been well thought out and executed. The shimmer brown tones in the sort of 3D lined casing is a great effect.

The palette consists 12 neural hues, with bronzy brown tones. 4 of these are shimmer colours whilst the rest are matte. These shades are perfect for creating a subtle daytime look as well as creating a sexy smokey eye with an evening attire.

There was a bit of a backlash for having similar shades as the previous palettes, I say , you can’t have enough nudes! The colours are versatile and pigmented, what more could you ask for? There are a tons of palettes our there, If it doesn’t float your boat, get you one that does. I’m pretty sure there are others like me, who simply live for neutrals.

I’m looking forwards to playing around with this, what do you think about the palette?
